A Self Discovery Assignment for You…Yes You!

I just got back from Bend, Oregon which may just be one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I’ve ever been to. Here’s what I saw when standing out on the terrace:

It’s easy to see how a view like this, complete with mountains, trees and a raging river would put someone in the perfect mental/emotional space to reflect, learn and grow.

I stayed at the beautiful Mt. Bachelor resort to meet with my coach along with other inspired speakers/entrepreneurs who want to bring their messages to the world in a big way. It’s always such a thrill for me to meet up with like-minded people who’ve found their unique gifts, talents, strengths and passions. I’m also always amazed to learn how these discoveries came about. Sometimes it was a tragedy or severe illness that closed one door and opened up another they never would have considered had that tragedy not occurred. Sometimes it’s a painful situation or circumstance that motivated them to try something new. Sometimes it’s the realization that they want more out of life and don’t want to settle or have any regrets. Sometimes it’s a burning desire to leave a legacy, reach for more or deepen their sense of joy and fulfillment in order to live a rich, satisfying and rewarding life. In any case, it’s so great to see so many people with specific gifts to share, impacting and benefiting all who need to hear what they have to say. So this brings me to a question for you. What’s your gift to bring to the world?

There’s something that you do. Yes you. Something that no one has to teach you how to do. Something that makes the time fly, your spirit soar, is effortless and completely rewarding. When you do this thing, it nurtures your soul, fuels your body and mind like a great meal with loved ones and a good night’s sleep. It’s what you’d do even if you didn’t get paid for it because it’s such a joy for you. When you do this thing, you’re at your best, almost as if something has taken over you and you can’t believe how calm, confident and how simple this is for you while others may struggle to do the same thing. You’re completely in your element, enjoying the process and you can’t believe how much fun you’re having. What is this thing you do? Please try to answer this question and then let me know! Better yet, let the world know!

We have so many roles. At any one time, you may be a mom, daughter, sister, spouse, partner, aunt, friend, coworker, neighbor, acquaintance, athlete, artist, student, etc. With so many roles, you may be paying more attention to one or two-say mom and co-worker, leaving the other roles unattended to. It’s when these roles get your attention too that we begin to see just how multi talented, incredible and how gifted we really are!

So, here’s your assignment-yes, I know you’re busy but it’s worth it. Take 10% away from any role you’re overdoing it in (if you’re a mom, chances are a huge percentage is dedicated to your mom role) and spread that 10% out to strengthen some of the other important roles you play. Pay attention to what happens and enjoy the process of strengthening other areas of your life. What will you discover? That’s part of the fun and I’d love to hear about it! Please comment and share!

Hi, I’m Sarah thanks, good of you allowing a grateful stranger like me post here at your blog. I’m at my Life Coach resource where I’m requesting boatloads of articles to do with the Life Coaching theme, and I’m trying to gather them together and format them in free ebook form. Sort of like ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ was created. Every single writer picked will put their name and the URL for their website. Assuming that you or your readers are willing to take part, then please come to our site Life Coach Training to contribute your article on the submission page. We are seeking articles of 425 and 800 words total that have no more than one weblink.

I found your website on google as I’m really interested on this topic. I must say – good for me, the information you share is quite a gem. Likewise, if you’ve time to spare yourself, can you visit my articles on how to build your own rocking chair? That is if you like this sort of stuff as well.
