There is great information on this page. I am in love with your blog so far. I've added the feed to my Google Reader RSS subscriptions and will continue reading your work. I did have a loading speed problem with how fast this page loaded. Might be something to fix.

I enjoyed your blog. Very well written and the content is insightful helpful for anyone on every trip to the grocery or food market. You really do need a well thought out plan or else your food shopping will more likely be impulse choices rather than nutritional choices. It really does make sense to have a plan- what you eat and drink does have a profound affect upon your health. thanks K

Hello,

You remind me a lot of Jillian Michaels :)

I very much enjoyed this article. I think majority of people are clueless when walking around a major grocery store. I blame this mainly on the grocery stores themselves. They do not make any efforts to explain where their produce comes from or how produce was grown, etc.

I try to purchase only organic produce.I have an article which explains the various organic levels and what they mean: http://www.shar-on-nutrition.com/?p=352

Take care and have a great day!

Great tips for shopping, and I can attest they work. I shop the periphery for most of what I buy, looking for whole foods and whole grains. But I also shop the interior for items that round out a healthy meal, including beans and rice, canned tomatoes, chocolate (key for my satisfaction), granola, nuts, coffee and cereal. I've learned that whatever I love to eat can be done with healthier ingredients and most of those are on the outer edges of the store.

And right you are, the best time to shop is not when I'm hungry, but when I'm armed with a good list.

Thanks for your insight
